The wood

When you cut against the length of the tree, the end grain reveals itself — a hidden geometry that face grain never shows. We build around that revelation.

Every end grain is one of one.

Most woodwork shows you the face of the tree. Sara shows you the end — the cross-section, the hidden interior, the pattern that only exists when the grain is cut perpendicular to the growth.

Every piece is built entirely by her hands, from raw exotic hardwood to finished object. Sliced, arranged, and book-matched, those end-grain faces become something closer to geometry than craft. And because no two trees are alike, no two pieces ever are either.

Tigerwood Vase #3
$275.00

Tigerwood earns its name. Cut end-grain and stacked so every layer mirrors the one beside it, the result is a bold, repeating chevron that runs across all four faces — no quiet side, no plain angle. Wherever you set it, the grain is doing something.

Finished in polyurethane to deepen the natural amber and red tones and protect the surface. A 2” x 2” square glass insert sits inside, so you can use it with fresh or dried flowers.

Overall size: approx. 3” x 3” x 9” (Glass Insert: 2” x 2” x 8”)

Walnut End Grain Cutting Board
$150.00

Meet your new favorite kitchen companion. Handcrafted from solid American black walnut, this end grain cutting board is built to handle daily use, keep your knives sharper longer, and only get better with age — all while looking beautiful on your counter.

Cocobolo Vase #1
$350.00

Cocobolo is one of the most sought-after hardwoods in the world, and the moment you see it in person, it's obvious why. Native to Central America, it's famous for its deep, jewel-like colors — rich reds, burnt oranges, and dark espresso tones — and a natural grain so vivid it almost looks painted. Crafted with end grain cocobolo on all four sides, this vase turns that wild figuring into a repeating geometric pattern that's genuinely unlike anything else you'll find.

Fitted with a 2” x 2" glass insert, it's fully functional as a vase while keeping the wood completely protected from water. Tuck in a few stems from the farmers market and it instantly becomes the most interesting thing on your table.

Overall size: Approx. 3” x 3” x 9” (Glass Insert: 2” x 2” x 8”)

Tigerwood End Grain Cutting Board (with feet)
$75.00

Tigerwood is a Central and South American hardwood that earns its name the moment you lay eyes on it. Deep reddish-browns, burnt oranges, and dramatic dark striping come together in a pattern that's bold, warm, and completely natural. On an end grain board, the cross-section of all those vivid stripes creates a stunning mosaic effect — like a piece of art that also happens to be the hardest-working thing in your kitchen.

Cutting board feet have been added to enhance safety, durability, and stability during use.

Each individual piece is meticulously handcrafted by artisan Sara Butorac, whose passion for woodworking shines through in her unparalleled dedication to creating top-notch woodwork of the finest quality.
